Too many connections? how many is enough? how many is too much? when someone contacts me online, one of the first things I check is the amount of friends he or she has. Less than a 300 is cool, over 400 - that smells fishy. Over 1,000 - well, this guy must be promoting something, a product or a blog.
So how many is too many? how many friends would make you feel awkward about that friend request?
i spend a lot of time on social bookmarking sites - twitter, digg, etc - but i find fewer and fewer readers. it seems that everyone is interested in one thing: boosting their own traffic. they leave links, they send emails, they do a lot of things, but what they don't do is to address the content of the post.
so my question is: when was the last time you have read a blog post without hoping for the writer to reciprocate? is there any information on the percentage of people who would open a link sent to them in social bookmarking sites?
